-the grass is worn down to the point of no return. Maybe needed to plant a different variety of grass to hold up to dog stuff?
-nice large area for dogs to run and play
-could have a few more benches located in different places
Nice flat place to walk. Flat and open . Also connects to town dog park.
I will go back again during the winter months but will steer clear during other times. I will try the parks in Norwich and Groton to see if they are any better. Hope that helps.
First of all, Kudos to the Town of Waterford for attempting to give dog owners a nice, safe, fenced in place for dogs to play and run free! Honestly, I wish that the people who attend the park would return the favor by picking up after themselves!
-easy to see where your dog is at all times (keep this thought for later)
In my first visit I was there with 4 other dog owners who were attentive, kind and their dogs seemed to be well groomed and cared for. The grounds were a problem for me and it is unfortunate that many dog owners are so inconsiderate of others. That is probably why many more towns do not offer up space for dogs. Come on, folks, do your part! Other dog owners should self-police and speak up when you see someone not cleaning up after their own animals.
-Clean up after your own dogs, people!!! The grounds were filthy with dog feces! This is completely unsanitary. It is how parasites are spread among dogs, folks. As noted above, it is easy to see your dog at all times so it is not like you can claim that you did not see it happen!
Conclusion:
-fence is nice and strong. I did not see any holes referred to in another review but I did not go into the small dog area.
So, the good:
-I went in the winter and my dog was filthy by the time we left. i can't imagine what this place will look like in the Spring!
-separate area for large and small dogs
Awesome space for doggos to run and play with each other!
Has a dog park that is separated by small and large dogs. Has several nice long trails that includes a pond
-a few benches for sitting while your dog play if you are so inclined
-an area to unleash and leash your dog prior to entering/leaving to avoid "escape"
The ugly (and this is 100% on the dog owners who frequent the park):
A really neat hiking trail here in Waterford. Very undeveloped so you think you are in Montana.
The bad:
